Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans’ Annual Health Fair attracts more than 350 participants

Annual event featured free flu shots, dental and vision screenings, food and entertainment

Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans (DCSNO), in collaboration with community partners, hosted its free Health Fair 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at their St. Cecilia Health Center in Bywater, 1030 Lesseps Street. This annual event, designed to promote healthy living among adults and children, was free and open to the public. More than 350 people participated from around the greater New Orleans area.

The health fair featured free flu shots, pregnancy tests, asthma education, dental and vision screenings, eyeglass repairs, prescription assessments, and much more. Free food, entertainment, and giveaways were also provided.

Participating community partners included AARP, ACCESS Pregnancy and Referral Centers, AmeriGroup, BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana, Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Merck Childhood Asthma Network, Project Rising Sun’s Healing Drummers, UnitedHealthcare, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Xavier University’s Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research and Education, and YAYA.
