Vamos a darle la bienvenida al nuevo año con mucha alegría y una actitud positiva. Nuevos comienzos se suponen que son oportunidades para empezar frescos y deseosos de mayores y mejores desafíos.

A nivel nacional, es un año electoral y creo que todos saben que mis esperanzas son que este año más Latinos ejercen su privilegio de votar. Es una oportunidad perfecta para que nuestras voces sean escuchadas. Esperemos que nuestro país pueda tener un cambio para mejor y podamos volver a recuperarnos. Somos afortunados que vivimos en una nación que permite que nuestro voto hable tan poderosamente. Registrese para votar y hágalo en las próximas elecciones.Localmente, podemos esperar que quizás los Santos vayan a otro Super Bowl, los Tigres de LSU jugarán en otro campeonato BCS, la reapertura del teatro Joy en Canal St. y Mardi Gras que es el mes que viene. Vamos a apoyar a nuestra hermosa ciudad con asistir a las funciones que están disponibles aquí y vamos a continuar mostrandole al mundo que Nueva Orleans todavía está creciendo más fuerte cada día. Necesitamos los dólares del turismo para seguir recuperándonos.
A todos nuestros lectores, les deseo un año nuevo maravilloso y espero que puedan mantener todas sus resoluciones. Recuerden que nunca es demasiado tarde para enriquecer sus vidas de manera positiva. Por ejemplo, ayudando a los demás, usted sentirá mejor. Es la buena intención la que cuenta y también el seguir la regla universal que es, tratar a los demás como le gustaría ser tratado! Este año será uno muy especial y aquí en El Tiempo New Orleans una vez más estamos deseando poder servirle de la mejor manera posible. Bienvenido 2012, estamos dispuestos a disfrutar de ti y lograr grandes éxitos!
Let’s welcome in the New Year with lots of cheer and a positive attitude. New beginnings are supposed to be opportunities to start fresh and look forward to bigger and better challenges. On the national level, it’s an election year and I think you all know that my hopes are that this year more Latinos exercise their privilege to vote. It’s a perfect opportunity for our voices to be heard. Hopefully our country can take a shift for the better and we can get back on our feet. We are lucky that we live in a nation that lets our vote speak so powerfully. Register to vote and cast it in the next election.
Locally, we can look forward to maybe the Saints going to another Super Bowl, the LSU Tigers playing in another BCS Championship, the reopening of the Joy Theater on Canal St. and Mardi Gras which is next month. Let’s support our beautiful city by attending the functions that are available here and let’s continue to show the world that New Orleans still is growing stronger each day. We need the tourism dollars to continue to recover.
To all our readers, I wish you all a wonderful New Year and hope that you are able to keep all your resolutions. Remember that it’s never too late to enrich your lives in any positive way that you choose to do it in. For example, by helping others you can get so much back and feel better about yourself. It’s all about the intention and following the Golden Rule—treat others as you’d like to be treated!
