 De donde eres y cuanto tiempo tienes de vivir aquí? Nací y crecí en Houma Louisiana, soy primera generación Latina, mis papas son de David, Chiriquí una de las provincias más famosas de Panamá. Me considero panagringa por que yo pasaba una cuarta parte de cada año en Panamá con mi familia.  Me mudé a New Orleans en 2003 cuando fui aceptada a la Universidad de Loyola. Cuando pasó el Huracán Katrina me mudé al Noreste y regresé a Loyola para terminar mi Maestría en Administración de Empresas- Asi que yo diría que he vivido en NOLA por siete años.

Describe NOLA en tres palabra. Alguien y Nadie- Yo amo a Nueva Orleans porque es una de las únicas ciudades donde uno puede ser “Alguien” y “Nadie” a la misma vez.

 Cual es tu título en ACCION y que haces? Soy Oficial de Prestamos para el microprestamista más grande de la nación, ACCION Texas Inc.  Trabajo diariamente con negocios nuevos y establecidos, proveyendo préstamos que ayudaran cumplir sus sueños. La misión de ACCION es proveer crédito y servicios a pequeños negocios que no tienen acceso a préstamos por medios comerciales. También trabajo doble como Avizor de Negocio- trabajando con dueños de pequeños negocios individuales y por medio de cursos gratuitos que los ayudan eficientar su manera de hacer negocio.

Cual es el mejor consejo que has recibio? Las palabras sabias de mi papá son súper chéveres pero creo que las mejores palabras de sabiduría que he recibido vinieron de unas de las “galletas chinas de fortuna” – y lo mantengo pegado a mi laptop – El éxito es estar en paz con ti mismo.

Como te vez entre cinco años? Me gustaría ser reconocida por impactar positivamente a los dueños de negocios Hispanos en la Gran Área Metropolitana de Nueva Orleans.

Where are you from and how long have you lived here? I was born and raised in Houma Louisiana, I am a first generation Latina whose parents are both from the small town of David which is located in the province of Chiriquí in Panama- I consider myself to be panagringa- since I spent at least a  quarter of every year in Panama visiting my family. I moved to New Orleans in 2003 to attend Loyola University, was ousted by Hurricane Katrina but returned to Loyola to complete my graduate degree again in 2008… So I would say I’ve lived in New Orleans for 7 years.

Describe NOLA in three words. Somebody or Nobody- I love New Orleans because this is one of the only cities where it’s easy to become “Somebody” or remain a “Nobody” at the same time.

What is your title at ACCION and what do you do? I am a Small Business Loan Officer for the nation’s largest microlender, ACCION Texas Inc. I work daily with existing and start-up businesses to help them fund their dreams. ACCION’s mission is to provide credit and services to small businesses that do not have access to loans from commercial sources. I also double as a Business Advisor – working with small business owners one-on-one as well as through free courses helping them manage their businesses more efficiently.

Best advice you’ve ever received. My dad’s advice is pretty awesome – but this piece of wisdom came from a fortune cookie that I keep taped to my laptop – Success is being at peace with yourself.

 Where do you see yourself in five years? I’d like to be recognized throughout the Greater New Orleans area for the positive impact I’ve had on the Hispanic entrepreneurial community.
