OVI-G and The Froggies

Recientemente tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Lili Giron, representante de Ovi-G y Los Froggies y hablamos del grupo y los futuros proyectos. Aquí está la entrevista.

ET: Hola Lili. Dime, cual es tu título con Ovi-G y Los Froggies?
LG: Soy la representante. Soy la persona que hace los contratos y coordina que todo este listo en sus presentaciones. Soy también la “Secretaria,” la persona a quien el Sr. Ovidio Giron le dedicó la canción “MI SECRETARIA” uno de sus muchos temas originales que el ha creado y que también recientemente fue grabada con Ovi-G y Los Froggies.

ET: Nos puedes relatar sobre el comienzo de Ovi G y Los Froggies? De quien fue la idea de formar un acto familiar?
LG: Prefiero llamarlo una familia musical en vez de acto familiar. Ovi-G quien tiene una trayectoria musical desde muy niño, fue quien le dio el nombre. Originalmente él lo hizo en español, pero por el ambiente Americano donde mas se desenvuelve la agrupación, se cambio a Ovi-G and The Froggies. El grupo toca mucho ritmos como soca y merengue, entre otros.


ET: Cuales son los planes futuros de Ovi G y Los Froggies?
LG: Realizar nuestros proyectos musicales, viajar, ayudar a Latinoamérica, niños, hospitales, ancianos, cosas de esa naturaleza.

ET: Adonde los podemos ver tocar  en la ciudad?
LG:

Viernes:    Fernandos en Baton Rouge,
Viernes:    Café Istanbul a las 11pm en New Orleans

I recently sat down with Lili Giron, manager of Ovi-G and The Froggies, and she told me a bit about the group and their future projects. Here is that interview.

ET: Hi Lili, so tell me, what is your position with Ovi-G and the Froggies?
LG: I’m their manager. I’m the person who signs the contracts and coordinates that everything is ready for their shows. I’m also the “Secretary”, the person who Mr. Ovidio Giron dedicated the song, “Mi Secretaria” to. It’s one of his many original songs and one that was recently recorded by the group.

ET: Can you tell us more about the beginnings of the group? Whose idea was it to form a family act?
LG: I prefer to call it a musical family instead of a family act. Ovi-G, whose started his musical career as a child, named the group. Originally the name was in Spanish, but because we perform in many non-Spanish venues, it was changed to Ovi-G and The Froggies. The group plays many rhythms such as soca and merengue.

ET: What are Ovi-G and The Froggies’ future plans?
LG: To fulfill our musical projects, travel, and to help Latin America, children, the elderly, hospitals and things of that nature.
